Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah;

I'm new to this webpage and alHamdulillah it is a pleasure to be able to communicate with Muslims who are upon the manhaj of following our Salaf-us-Saliheen [upon whom may Allah Ta'Ala have mercy].

Question: Is there a work that provides biographical information pointing out the fact that many of the scholars of Islam were initially educated at home by relatives [i.e. father, mother, uncle or other]?

My concern is because there are so many misguided young Muslim brothers out there today. We have so many arrogant ignorant leaders calling them to ISLAMIC MOVEMENT. These young men leave their homes to represent these men and their Call. Thus leaving their wives and children without foundation in Aqeedah and manhaj.

As an older brother, I have nine children and approximately 18 grand children, I know the mistakes I made as a youth and today I try to share that ill experience the youth. Allah, Azza wa Jall, instructed us in Al-Qur'an: "O YE WHO BELIEVE! SAVE YOURSELVES AND YOUR FAMILIES FROM THE FIRE." [Tahrem:6]

These so-called activist, with their political ambitions, place MISGUIDED ISLAMIC MOVEMENT before their families. They have now come to quote Qur'an to the effect that "many of the Prophet [alaihimus-salam] lost their children to the life of this world." May Allah Ta'Ala forgive them and guide them.

Back to my question, is anyone aware of such a book that would give some of that information?
