This is very very sad news. I met Umar many years ago during my short stay in Cairo, Egypt. Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji'oon. I always will remember him as a very kind brother, and also very sincere as a friend. Allah is his reckoner and I do not declare anyone pure of sin before Allah, but this is how I knew brother Umar.
May Allah forgive his sins and have mercy upon him. Aameen.
