|Shaikh Muhammad Aqeel |
The sheikh began his speech with the basmalah and sent salaah and salaam upon the Prophet (sallal-laahu alayhi-wasalam), his family and companions. Then the sheikh said:
Indeed, Allaah (Azza-wa-jal) has chosen some of the callers to Allaah (Azza-wa-Jal) and some of the scholars in disseminating the sunnah of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) in the city of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam); and from those blessed scholars who have exerted efforts in disseminating the sunnah of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) in the city of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasalam) is our Shaikh, Shaikh Ubaid al-Jaabiri (may Allaah preserve him); who has exerted efforts in calling to Allaah (Azza-wa-jal) for over more than 40 years in the city of the Prophet, in its surrounding areas/rural areas and in the cities of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and outside of the kingdom; and exerted efforts in every place with regards to the path of calling to Allaah (Azza-wa-jal) through accessible means of communication such as the internet and other than it.
The sheikh (may Allaah show him mercy) took on the Imaamship of his masjid and delivering the khutbah in it for many years. Allaah brought about benefit through these lessons which the sheikh established in his masjid and through the juma'ah khutab which he delivered on his mimbar on many issues, and the students of knowledge from the Islamic University of Madeenah and other than it gathered around him to take from his knowledge.
And at the time he taught in the university's secondary institute, he established his students upon love of the Sunnah, upon exalting the Book of Allaah, upon exalting the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), upon exalting the manhaj of the salafus Saaleh rahimahumullaah), upon holding unto the manhaj of the salafus saaleh and upon censuring bidah and its people. And it is not known of him, of a day that he affiliated himself with a hizbi nor calling to a group of innovation.
And his exerted efforts have not ceased to produce its fruits, for he is the supervisor of the Dawrah of Shaikh Muhammad Bin Ibraaheem in the city of Jeddah which has many years of calling to the Sunnah. Indeed, I have participated in these Dawras for many years and have seen the Shaikhıs eagerness in aiding the sunnah and choosing lessons that call to the sunnah and in aiding it. And we do not purity anyone above Allaah, but we say what we know about the sheikh.
And these khilaafaat that are present in the domain; and they are the defamations against the sheikh and other than him amongst the scholars of Islaam, then in reality it is incumbent upon the student of knowledge to behave towards these (defamations) with the etiquette Allaah has stated in His saying:
'When a faasiq comes to you with news then verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.'
And I caution them with the saying of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alahi-wasallam):
'Whoever declares enmity towards my waliy, I have declared war against him'
Instead of defending these scholars, we defame them; this is from the strangest of affairs. And if it is the case that the aiders of dawatus salafiyyah speak ill of the callers to salafiyyah, then who will defend the callers to Dawatus salafiyyah. This is something strange in reality.
And it has been authentically reported from the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) that he said:
'Whoever defends the honour of his brother in this dunyah, Allaah will defend his honour on the day of Judgement.'
So I make a request to my brothers who listen to these words/statements, that they employ good etiquettes towards the scholars of the Ummah. And if one of them falls into error, which will inevitably take place, then they should understand the meaning of the saying of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasalam) that: 'All the children of Adam commit mistakes' and the saying of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), 'When a hakim makes ijtihaad and is correct, he has two rewards; and if he is wrong, he has one reward.'
The Rabbaani scholars, those holding onto the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah, they have one of two (rewards); either rewarded with two rewards when correct or forgiven when mistaken and given one reward for striving to reach a correct verdict. Therefore, how is it that we small students of knowledge speak ill of them. This is not permissible and may Allaah protect and take care of you.
I ask Allaah for Tawfeeq and Sadaad and that He unites the hearts and distances us from the clutches of shaytaan.
