"...I detest that someone uses the issue of the shade ( الظل ) as a pretense, from what was mentioned in the explanation of Riyaadh as-Saaliheen, about the seventh hadeeth, its wording: "(There are) seven who Allaah will put them in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade..."  Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen mentioned that Allaah creates a shade.  So Shaykh Faalih has used this as a pretense to speak about Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen, and he said: 'He does not know what he is saying,' and, 'Does he even know what is coming out of his head?  For if a student of knowledge were to follow up the books of Ibn 'Uthaymeen so as to extract the errors therein.'

This, knowing that the issue of the shade, that ascribing it to Allaah does not necessitate that it is one of His Attributes.  For verily things being ascribed (to Allaah) has come in the Islaamic texts at times to refer to some of His Attributes, like His statement, may He be exalted: "Rather, His two hands are outstretched."  Other times, (the ascription) refers to something from His created beings, like His Statement: "The she-camel of Allaah, so give it drink.", and what is similar to this.

So what is important is that ascribing (shade to Allaah) does not necessitate that the shade is one of His Attributes, and thus find fault with the shaykh, may Allaah have Mercy on him, with his saying, "A shade that Allaah creates."  And I do not know that shade has been mentioned as an attribute of Allaah.

Thus this shows that criticism in this issue has no place.

Furthermore, there is belittlement of the scholars in it, and inciting the foolish people against them..."

I know that Faarooq al-Ghaythee is from, or based in, Emirates.

I would like to ask one of the students of knowledge or du'aat what the condition of Markaz ibn Umayr in Emirates is?
