The Shaykh hafidhahullah used to be with the Qutbiyyah in the early 1990's.  The Qutbiyyeen would shower praises upon him, accompany him and frequent his mosque in large numbers.  By the permission of Allaah, the Shaykh was later guided to see the truth concerning this destructive call of the Qutbiyyah and he left them as a result. So he began to openly refute the heads of rebellion and revolt, he would advise the 'Committee for Defence of Human Rights' and their leader, Muhammad al-Mis'aree.[1]

Here is what the Shaykh said in an interview about his past mistake,
quote:
...in the past, I expressed my opinion in public, I now believe that public denunciations are a mistake, both on a religious and a rational level. I continue, however, to give advice to and discuss matters with those in power, in private."[2]

May Allah reward the Shaykh for his public acceptance of the truth and encouraging others who are still following deviated methodologies to repent and come to the correct path. Aameen.
