Q- Is it permissible for women to go to mosques and the (Islamic) study lessons (circles)?

A ý Yes. It is permissible for women to go to mosques and the (Islamic) study lessons (circles), however so long as they are covered and are (seated) behind the men.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ýThe best of the rows for the men are the front rows and the worst of them are the last ones, and the best of the rows for the women are the last ones and the worst of them are the first ones.ý (Sahih Muslim, 1/326)

The Noble Yemeni Scholar - Shaykh Muqbil Ibn Haadee Al-Waadii'ee (Raheemahullah) - Gave a Fatwa regarding the sisters that attend Islamic Conferences.

Women attending Islamic Conferences

Question

Is it permissible for the woman to attend Islamic conferences?

Answer

If the conference is knowledge based and she can benefit and that the women are segregated from the men just as the Prophet (Sallaallaahu 'alaihi wa 'alaa aalihi wa sallam) used to do on the day of Eid when he would admonish the men and then go and admonish the women, so if they are segregated and that they do not travel there except with a mahrum and a speaker be installed for them then there is no harm for them Inshaa Allaah.
