  As Salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah;
Is anyone of the brothers/sisters familiar with the book, Tayseer ul Alaam by Abdullah ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Saalih Ali Bisaam? If so, who is he and is the book sound?
As Salaamu alaikum;

  Wa Alaykum Salaam...

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't that his sharh of "Umdah tul Ahkaam" (of Abdul Ghanee al-Maqdisee <Rahimullah>)? I say this because Abu Hakeem uses a similar book in his lessons.

I am not sure, I would have to check tomorrow, insha Allaah.  One of the Imams here recommends that book so I just wanted to check it out before I said anything.  Working with the brothers here is West Africa is VERY TRYING.  The Dawah is alien here and the people have taken those who are jaahil jidan as their "ulema". Give the brother Abu Hakeem my salaams.

  Regarding the shaykh, 'Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Naasir as-Sa'dee, Shaykh Muhammad 'Umar Baazmool wrote:

"...From the indications of his [Sa'dee's] true virtue and high rank of knowledge is that a number of his students are the elder scholars of today and are well known judges.  From the most famous of his students was the virtuous shaykh, Muhammad ibn Saalih ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have Mercy on him), and the virtuous shaykh, 'Abdullaah al-Bassaam (may Allaah have Mercy on him)..."

Essential Questions and Answers of as-Sa'dee, English translation (TROID), p.6

Shaykh al-Bassaam's books like Tayseer al-'Allaam, a sharh of 'Umdatul-Ahkaam, and Tawdheeh al-Ahkaam, a sharh of Buloogh al-Maraam, are very beneficial, may Allaah have Mercy on him and increase his reward.

Maashaa Allaah, AlHamdulillah for guiding us to this Blessed dawah and to the brotherhood.  May Allaah ta Ala continue to bless this forum and the participants and give us the patience and wisdom to deal with those who mislead and the ones misled.  May He ta Ala forgive us our sins and grant us success in this world and in the Hereafter.   Na'm he is known amongst the scholars who used to teach in the haram in Makkaah rahimahullaah. He died recently in the past year or two rahimahullaah. Both of these explanations of Umdat al Ahkaam and Bulough al Maram are very beneficial and each hadeeth the sheikh brings benefits in point form which makes it easier for the taalib al ilm.
