asalaam alaykum warahamtullahi wabarakuh jazak Allah khair for the reply masha Allah. I have another question regarding other sura recitation in 1st n 2nd rakaa when praying. After i recite fatiha(which is a must)then its sunnah to recite any other surah...my question is do i have to recite the whole surah or i can just recite any ayah from a long surah?..example can i just recite ayatul Kusri instead of the whole surah baqarah? or can i just recite ayat (31:34) in surat luqman instead of reciting the whole surah?..i know short surahs but still dont know long ones. also can add an ayah from any surah after short surah recitation? for example after reciting Surat Az-Zalzalah can i recite aya (31:34) in suratul Luqman?... pls help me insha Allah with dalil. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Please purchase the book 'Sifah sallah an-Nabiyy' the prophet's prayer described by shaikh Naasir deen al Albaani رحمه الله you will find in shaa Allaah all you need to know now about the salaat and will prove that the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم would read aayaat from a surah in one rak'ah and aayaat from another surah in the second. والله أعلم أبو سلمان النمري
