as salaamu 'alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Please forgive if this question is not in the right place. I still would like some insight on this subject.

I just found out that my 4 year old daughter has seizures. She has been having them when she s going to sleep and as she is waking up from sleep. this was from a test that was done on her with the neurologist.

I seen for my own eyes monday night her actually have one. Alhamdulillh it was not a bad one and she is ok. Prior to this she had only had one other with her father back in may.

My question is: could this be a jinn possessing her? Or could this just be something within her brain that is causing this?

Barakallahu feekum!

  Bismillah,
Assalaamu alaikum,

Firstly i would like to say ukhti, that may Allah cure your daughter and strengthen you with patience and reward you greatly for that patience, ameen.

Secondly there is a tape of a lecture that Shaykh Fawzee al-Atharee did a few years in Birmingham Conference on the Jinn (Q&A session) which inshaAllah will help you.  In there he explains how the symptoms could be due to an actual illness, or it could be an affliction of the Jinn.  And if it is an affliction of the Jinn, then increasing the studying of Tawheed is something that will help to remove this.

And it is not something that should have a stigma attached to it, rather it is an illness, just like other illnesses, and it has a cure like other illnesses.

Also the Shaykh's wife whilst teaching in Birmingham gave a beautiful naseeha regarding this issue, advising the believers to be patient with this.  And that maybe Allah tests His slave with this in order to give him/her more reward and raise their rank/station in the Aakhira.

And she reminded us of the woman who came to the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wassallam) with a similar affliction and she was offered the cure of it or if she had patience a great reward for it.  And she chose to be patient and hope for the reward.

And she also advised that when you study the deen, this is something that hurts the Jinn and they dislike it, and they will try and make you leave that studying by making the studying difficult for you.  But if you persist in it and increase in the studying of the deen, inshaAllah it will leave you.

Also one of the brothers who taught us in our Aqeedah class in the past, told us of a narration of a brother, who had a similar affliction and he prayed Tahajjud in the last third of the night, asking Allaah to remove it from him, and he was cured of it.

So inshaAllah maybe if you have not done so yet, then pray the Tahajjud asking Allah to cure your daughter, as the last third of the night is one of the excellent times that a believers dua's are answered.

So inshaAllah increase in your talking about Tawheed to your daughter.  As Shaykh Fawzee's wife taught the sisters - say to your child 'who made you, who made your eyes, who made your ears?' Teaching them that Allaah made them.  Also talking about the creation, the sun, moon, stars, the natural things - teaching them that Allaah is the Creator etc.  Teach her the names of Allaah and to call on Allah using these beautiful names.

So if it is Jinn, by her increasing in her study of Tawheed and knowledge of Tawheed, it will leave her, inshaAllah.  And recite to her and make her recite Qur'aan, as the Qur'aan is a medicine and a cure for many things.

And don't think that because she is 4 she won't understand or it will be too much for her.  Ukhti it is amazing what children can grasp and understand at such a young age.  And one she has grasped the basic understanding of Tawheed - it will stay with her for her whole life inshaAllah.  And she will only increase upon it.

I hope that my advice has been of some help ukhti.

May Allah bless you and your daughter and make her a firm and upright salafiyyah - ameen.

Wassalaamu alaikum

  Asalamu aleykum wa rahmatullah
Im not going to talk of any information on the Jinn as I dont know how they enter/leave etc.  There are some other things that I considered.
After reading your post I thought of 3 things.  One of which you mentioned-the Jinn.
The other two were epilepsy and convulsions. I wanted to ask whether or not you have considered these two?  What are her seizures like?  There are convuslions that can happen when a child has a temperature and cannot lower its body heat, I think they are called Februle Convulsions, occur in young childre and they are harrowing to say the least.  The childs eyes are fixed, they fit, then they go blue to cool themselves down and they not hearing you and when their body has cooled down they come around and are very tired.  I dont mean to stray from the point but I wanted to give you an example.

As far as getting her checked for Jinn then you need to ask someone of knowledge.  You can post a help message for advice of where to go etc and InshaAllah may Allah reward your efforts for your child and make it easy for you.

Research the symptoms, the time that they occur, the environment and the frequency and note it all down so you can check the patterns of her seizures.  That way when you do have the help you need you have the evidence and history behind it.

If you need any help at all and cant get anywhere please PM me and we'll try together to get you help insaAllah.

Keep making Du'a and trust that whatever Allah gives us is for the best. SubhanAllahi wabiHamdihi.

Wassalamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakathu

as salaamu 'alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Barakum allahu feekum!

No, she did not have a fever when she had any of the seizures. Tomorrow she will have a MRI(CAT) scan of her brain to make sure she doesn't have a tumor of some sort. I was just curious to know whether or not it my have been the evil eye someone place on her unknowingly. I just pray to Allah azza wa jal, that she gets better. Any information that you may want to give I will be happy to accept.

Also, who is selling those lecture tapes?

  Bismillah,

Assalaamu alaikum,

Ukhti the tapes we bought after the actual Birmingham Conference which was in 2001.  And the reference number on the tape is: S12.006  And the title is:  The Jinn/Q&A by Shaykh Fawzee al-Atharee.

InshaAllah it may still be available from the Salafipublications website or bookstore.  Try either (depending on where you are in the world).

May Allaah (subhaana wa ta'aalaa) cure your daughter, ameen.  And ukhti i'm sure that everyone who read's about your daughter cannot help but make du'a for her to get better.  Put your trust in Allaah ukhti and He (subhaana wa ta'aalaa) will cure her, be firm in your resolve for this always when making du'a.

Wassalamu alaikum

Umm Mariam
