Asalaamu alaykum I would like to know the ruling around the Friday khutbah. Is it obligatory to attend and listen to it or is it sunnah? I know the friday prayer is obligatory but, what is the ruling on the khutbah? Wa 'alaykumus-salaamu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. It is obligatory on all sane, adult, Muslim males who are not travelling, sick, or in fear of harm to attend and listen.
