The question was posed to the Lajnah when Ibn Baaz was the Mufti. Fatwa number 1900 Q. What is the ruling on mentioning the name of Allaah in the toilets that are in our time ...? All praise to Allaah and his Prayers and blessings upon his messenger, family and companions. To procede: It is disliked that mankind mention the name of Allaah in the toilets and likewise making tahleel ( laa iliha illaah) and it is not legislated that one washing from impurity says the shahaadah whilst he is pouring water on his body....
