In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, Ever Merciful to his believing servants. Salaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah, If someone resolves to do something to themself, i.e., makes a vow to himself to do something as an atonement to Allah, then is this considered a vow that must be completed as if it was stated openly. Barakallahu feekum.
