Hadeeth:

Abu Ayyub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, "He who observes As-Saum (the fasts) in the month of Ramadan, and also observes As-Saum for six days in the month of Shawwal, it is as if he has observed As-Saum for the whole year.'
[Muslim].

re- FASTING 6 DAYS OF SHAWWAL

Do the fasts have to be one after the other - 6 days in a row in SHAWWAL?

  wa alaykumus salaam,

Bismillah,

As-Shaikh Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy on him, answered this question by saying, "Fasting six days from the month of Shawwal has been authentically traced back to the Messenger of Allah, sallallhu 'alayhi wa sallam. It is permissible to fast these days one after another or separately. This is because the Messenger of Allah, sallallhu alayhi wa sallam, left the affair of fasting these days unrestricted. He, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, did not mention whether they have to be done one after another or separately. He, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, said, 'He who observes As-Saum (the fasts) in the month of Ramadan, and also observes As-Saum for six days in the month of Shawwal, it is as if he has observed As-Saum for the whole year.' [Muslim]

SHOULD FASTING THE SIX DAYS OF SHAWWAAL BE DONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DAY OF 'EED?

Question: Is the fasting of the six days (of Shawwaal) a must after the month of Ramadhaan immediately after the day of 'Eed, or is it permissible (to do so0 after 'Eed by (a number of) days in the month of Shawwaal or not?

Response: It is not a must for him to fast immediately after 'eed al-fitr, rather it is permissible to begin fasting after 'eed by a day or (a number of) days. And (also) to fast them continuously or intermittently in the month of Shawwaal according to that which is easy for him. And the issue is quite open in this matter, and it is not obligatory, rather it is a sunnah. And with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and his family and his companions.

A simple reminder.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
