A: Spoiled food that will not be eaten, there is no problem with throwing it in the trash. As for good food which may be eaten, even if by animals, if it is possible that the animals or the birds may eat it then it is not permissible to throw it in the trash; because this food is highly regarded, and it can be benefited from. Throwing it in the trash is to have low regard for it and to waste it.
