Bismillaahi was-salaatu was-salaamu 'alaa rasoolullah As-salaamu 'alaikum I am looking for evidence on the prohibition of sitting with crossed legs i.e. knees flexed , and arms wrapped around them , during the Jumu'ah khutbah. Also , is it only for the Jumu'ah khutbah or elsewhere too? May Allah reward all of your efforts and we ask Allah 'azza wa jal to purify our intentions , for His sake only. BaarakAllaahu feekum

Wa Alaikum Salaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu. Wa Feeka Baarak Allahu. I read this in Riyadus Saliheen a while ago. I just checked it against Da'eef Ahaadeeth of An-Nawaawee's Riyadus Saliheen and it wasn't there. "Mu'adh bin Anas Al-Juhani said: the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam) forbad us from sitting with our legs drawn up to our belly (ihtiba') during the Fiday Khutbah." [Abu Daud and At-Tirmidhi}. Wa Allahu Alim! This message was edited by umm.abdulmalik on 10-12-02 @ 11:42 AM
