salamalykum wa rahmatullah Shaykh Saleh Al-Luhaydan said that the beginning of Muharram was not established through moon-sighting. For this reason he reccommends that to be safe we fast monday (1st march_)and tuesday (2nd March)as this way we will have fasted the 10th for sure. In this regard it has been posted on sahab.net that shaykh Al-Luhaydan said: ولم يثب هذا العام 1425ه- دخول شهر الله المحرم وإن كان الظاهر أنه يوم السبت لذا يحسن صيام يوم الاثنين والثلاثاء لأنه إن كان دخول الشهر يوم السبت يكون الاثنين العاشر من شهر محرم والثلاثاء الحادي عشر وإن كان دخول الشهر يوم الأحد حصل صيام التاسع والعاشر فعسى أن يتحقق لك بصيام يوم عاشوراء إن شاء الله تكفير ذنوب السنة الماضية مع جزيل العطاء وعظيم الأجر . http://www.spa.gov.sa/CGI-BIN/spa_a_reslt2.asp?ser=619360 sahab.net have adjusted their website date in accordance to this news also.
