As-Salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaah Can someone provide sufficient information about the welfare system, how one joins up, conditions, any contracts that have to be signed, what they require from people on welfare, etc. so we can seek an official fatwaa from the lajnah about Muslims in America receiving welfare, is it permissible, if so, under what circumstances and are there conditions, etc...?
