Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah. I?d like to clarify a question that was brought up, regarding the Qiblah from North America (on the west side). In California usually we pray in the direction of North-East, but some people pray in the direction of South-East (more east than south) saying that this is more correct. You can check the direction from the website of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia. http://prayer.al-islam.com/default.asp?l=eng&countflag=0 Choose your state and city or a nearby city and inshAllaah you will get the correct direction. The Habashees pray in the wrong direction. They are a deviant sect.
