Taken from ?Tamaamul Minnah pg. 114? by the Shaykh Allaamah Muhaddith of this time Muhammed Naasirud Deen Al-Albaani. Shaykh ul Islaam said in Al-Ikhtiyaraat pg. 9: ?The wudoo of the one who wiped on his sock or Imamaah is not broken if he was to remove them, and neither (is it broken) by the (allowed) period expiring. And it is not obligatory upon him to wipe his head or wash his feet,this is the Madhab of Al-Hasan Al-Basri?? I say (Shaykh Albaani): That which he (Shaykul Islaam) mentioned on Al-Hasan Al-Basri is found in Ta?leeq form in the Saheeh of Imaam Al-Bukhari 1/225, where he said: ? Al-Hasan said that If he removed his nails and hair, or removed his Khuffs, then there is no wudoo upon him (meaning that this does not break his wudoo).? I say (Shaykh Albaani): That this is the also Madhab (position) of Ali ibn Abi Taalib. Al-Bayhaqi 1/288 and At-Tahaawi in ?Sharh ul Ma?aani 1/58 reported upon the authority of Abu Dhabyaan, that he saw Ali urinating whilst standing, then he called for water, made wudoo and wiped over his sandals, then he entered into the masjid removed his socks and then prayed. Al-Bayhaqi added: Then he led the people (in prayer). Their chains (of narration) are Saheeh and they fulfil the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
