salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu i have read in many books that it is forbidden to say surah yaseen over a grave such as the methodology of the saved sect by shaykh muhammed ibn jamil zeno is one of the books, but is there a rulling in saying surah yaseen for the dying (not dead)? jazak allah khayr, Sa'ad As-Salafi

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu 'ala rasulullaah Amma ba'd Recite Surah Yaseen Upon Your Dead? Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركــــاته There is no authentic narration about Surah Ya-Seen, most of them fabricated or daeef, how is written by Shaykh al Albanee (rahimuhullah) book related to virtues of some surahs... There is a hadith: The Prophet (Sall Allahu Aleyhe Wa Salam) said: ŭRecite Ya-Seen over your dead.ŭ (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3121; Ibn Maajah, 1448. Shaykh al-Albaani said: With regard to reciting Soorat Ya-Seen over the deceased and turning him to face the qiblah, there is no saheeh hadeeth to this effect. Ahkaam al-Janaaŭiz, p. 11) And probably from this hadith is coming your question.
